TRICARE Beneficiaries Deserve Chiropractic Care Too!

TRICARE Beneficiaries Deserve Chiropractic Care Too!

Virginia comes in 3rd in the line up of states with the most active and reserve members of the military, only beaten out by Texas & California.

Chiropractic care is used to treat musckuloskeletal disorders without drugs. It is an inexpensive treatment that helps with a range of issues from back pain, neck pain, carpal tunnel, dizziness, headaches, etc. IN 2000 Congress enacted into Law a permanent chiropractic benefit within the DoD health system for active-duty military personnel only.  This leaves out all Tricare retirees, dependents, and survivors. Also many wounded warriors, who depended on the services provided by doctors of chiropractic, suddenly have that treatment option pulled out from under them when they are categorized as “medically retired.

Currently the American Chiropractic Association is working to change this discrepancy and there is a bill in congress that would allow all Tricare holders to receive care. It is called HR 4973 -  Enact Legislation to Provide TRICARE Beneficiaries with Access to Chiropractic

Dr. Erica Heppe goes to D.C. to lobby for Virginia congressman to cosign and vote on this bill.
